The growing increase in the number of Independent Service Providers (ISPs) has put pressure on companies in the sector to show that they have something extra to offer, in comparison with their competitors, in order to guarantee a healthy slice of the market.
One way they can do this is by expanding their portfolio of services so that their clients can have a single source to support various demands, as well as other offers of added value. In this regard, an interesting option is to offer alternatives to clients seeking to use VoIP service with a preexisting analog infrastructure.
“VoIP has become a global trend in the market, because it’s a scenario that allows for easy interconnections,” states Lucas Silva, a product developer at Khomp.
How to offer VoIP service
A practical and inexpensive way to offer your clients VoIP services is through ATAs.
“With this kind of equipment, which converts digital data to analog, ISPs can deliver VoIP services without requiring the client to effect a structural change in their telephone network,” he relates.
Another solution is to use media gateways, created to substitute several devices for signaling and connectivity with a single piece of equipment.
With this scenario, ISPs can offer the functionalities of the device as a service, with a central gateway serving different companies with ATAs at their sites or by providing low-density call gateways within the client’s local infrastructure.
“The benefits that this equipment offers ISPs are that they will have applications that guarantee high performance, so that they can offer services for large-scale environments as well as for a single user,” he adds.
