The increasing use of IP technology for communication has made it indispensable to interconnect the various kinds of networks available with the IP networks. This interconnection is done by media gateway, a device created to act as the meeting point between different voice and data transport networks. The gateways also have a number of other responsibilities for communication to flow: transport adaptation; conversion between protocols and from legacy signaling to new standards; compression and decompression of data packages for optimization of IP networks whenever needed; as well as keeping the involved networks secure.
Facilitate the understanding of the whole operation and create the necessary tools to make implementation and configuration easier; handle scenario expansion and day-to-day operation; as well as perform monitoring maintenance and diagnostics of solutions based on media gateways. These are all tasks that Khomp has revisited, studied and evolved, to launch its new line of media gateway, the KMG MS line.
By innovating the global market of media gateway, Khomp gathered all telephony interfaces in a single equipment, combined with the information security for IP networks, provided by the SBC, as well as many other value-added features for telecom solutions. Get to know a few of them:
KMG MS LINEUP FEATURES
- WEB INTERFACE: for easier configuration, monitoring and diagnosis;
- ROUTING SCRIPT: for the automation of routing functions;
- RTP BRIDGE: to allow for a larger number of simultaneous SIP calls;
- DATA ENCRYPTION in VoIP channels for the network security;
- SBC FOR ROUTING: all advanced features of SIP – SIP call routing;
- KMG ANALYTICS: Khomp call classifier to ensure the effectiveness of the call center productive calls;
- STANDALONE SURVIVABILITY (SAS): survival mode in case of PBX failure;
- HIGH AVAILABILITY (HA): with redundant equipment that takes over the processing of all gateway calls in case of failure, keeping all settings unchanged;
- SS7, ISUP AND SIGTRAN SUPPORT: for interconnection at the carrier core level;
- REGISTER AUTHORIZATION: for prior authorization of external IP telephone registration request;
- KMG MONITOR: SAAS for interactive monitoring and real-time data analysis;
- KSMS SYSTEM: SAAS for SMS text message campaigns with all statistics for your analysis.
Media Gateway to Scalability
The media gateways of the KMG MS line were designed in modules, so that the solution, in addition to being robust, would be flexible and fully scalable: telephony interfaces such as E1, 2G and 3G GSM, FXO, and FXS can be added through external modules, allowing for gradual expansion of the operation.
Five models from this product line are available to meet the different demands of simultaneous calls, according to the size of the operation. KMG 200 MS was developed for applications in the corporate market, for use by carriers and service providers seeking to integrate TDM and NGN networks or small-scale call centers. It can come with 1 or 2 E1 links installed in its cabinet, as well as two additional external modules, adding up to 60 channels, plus 60 SIP SBC with codec conversion or 240 SIP SBC in Bridge mode.
The KMG 400 MS model, in turn, is capable of completing twice as many simultaneous calls as the previous model. It has 3 slots on the base chassis for combining up to 3 additional telephony interfaces, as wells as capacity for expansion with 2 additional external modules, for a total capacity of 120 channels.
The KMG 3200 MS model is the most robust in its line: it has high density with high availability, with up to 32 E1 or 960 channels between E1, GSM, FXO and/or FXS, and up to 300 SIP SBC calls with transcoding. It is the ideal model for robust call centers that require complete management of telephony operations, with advanced features. Operating only with SIP – SIP calls, it supports up to 750 calls with transcoding or up to 2,010 calls in Bridge mode.
Two other models that make the line complete are the KMG SBC 90 and the KMG SBC 750. Both have their performance focused on SIP – SIP calls and were developed for call center companies that use SIP connections in VoIP agents and carriers. The KMG SBC 90 low density gateway, supports up to 300 SIP calls or up to 90 with transcoding. The high density KMG SBC 750 on the other hand, supports up to 2.010 SIP calls in Bridge mode or up to 750 with transcoding.
All calls are processed simultaneously by the gateways, with the robustness of a hardware designed with an extremely efficient architecture, which provides an admittedly superior performance for solutions based on Khomp technology. Additionally, all models have SNMP integration, which allows for remote equipment maintenance, if necessary; provisioning for exporting and importing configuration via web interface; generation of customizable CDRs, which can be exported for billing planning; controlled access to the web interface with different levels per user; among many other features.
