As part of its commitment to the ongoing enhancement of its products, Khomp has announced a couple of updates to the UMG line: the introduction of the 102 model and performance enhancements to other devices of this same category.
“The UMG 102 is an evolution of the UMG 50, which has been discontinued,” says Rodolfo Leffa, Khomp’s development coordinator.
Like its predecessor, the UMG 102 has two Gigabit Ethernet network ports and one E1/T1 port. However, the channels in this model are not provisioned by increments: the devices ship from the factory with all 30 channels in place.
The UMG 102 also offers the Stand-alone Survivability (SAS) feature. “By purchasing this additional feature, companies can benefit from having up to 120 extensions,” he says.
It also offers a user-friendly interface for configuration, monitoring and diagnostics; support for R2, ISDN and SIP signaling; transcoding between G.711 (A-law and μ-law) and G.729A codecs; SNMP support; customizable CDR billing and collect call blocking.
Updates to the UMG line
By introducing the 102 model, Khomp is offering yet another UMG device with SAS capabilities. Besides the UMG 102, there are three other models that rely on this technology, the UMG 104, UMG Modular and UMG FXS, which have all been enhanced with more VoIP call capability.
